In order to maintain your type rating, you must complete recurrent training and testing every 6 or 12 months, depending on the regulatory body.

A type rating is either a single type rating or a multi-engine type rating. With a single type rating, the pilot is certified to fly only that type of aircraft. With a multi-engine type rating, the pilot is certified to fly multiple types of aircraft, but at least one of those aircraft must have more than one engine.
In order to obtain your type rating, you must complete an approved training program and pass a written and practical test. The type rating will be valid for as long as the pilot maintains their certification, but they must complete recurrent training and testing every six or twelve months, depending on the regulatory body.
